SAR Simulation of Kelvin Wakes Patterns induced by Moving Ship on Time-Varying Ocean Surface

Now researchers can observe most oceanographic phenomena such as surface wakes, ocean currents or internal solitary waves by virtue of high-resolution monitoring capability provided by synthetic aperture radar (SAR) in all weather, all day and all night. In fact, the scarcity of ship wake SAR images somewhat frustrated in-depth research, hence, the study on simulation of kelvin wake is quite meaningful, but lack of attention to detail. Conventional simulation pipeline is specific in a single moment, not considering the dynamic mechanism of sea surface, as well as the movement trends of ship wakes during the imaging process. To further refine the microwave theory of ship wakes, we propose here a dynamic composite model of ship-sea pattern and build a full-link simulator, which taken the dominating modulation effect and nonlinear phenomena into account. Given the initial velocity vector of ship, successive wave height status can be carried out with dispersion relation and influenced by time slice number and interval.
