In-Orbit Ka Band Multibeam Antenna Pattern Tests of High Throughput Satellite

The antenna pattern of a satellite must be measured in the early stages after a launch to confirm whether if the antenna performance is degraded by the launch vibration. This paper presents the in-orbit test methodology and test results for Ka band multibeam antenna pattern of the first China high throughput satellite (Chinasat-16). The in-orbit test results agree well with those in ground measurement, which means that Ka-band multibeam antenna has withstood launch environments and also performances are not degraded in space environments.
