Finite Element Tearing and Interconnecting Modeling of Finite Metasurfaces

Numerical modeling and simulation plays an important role in the design and analysis of electromagnetic metasurfaces. However, finite periodic array structures often lead to high computational costs. In this paper, an accurate and efficient numerical modeling method based on a finite element tearing and interconnecting (FETI) is proposed to analyze the electromagnetic metasurfaces. For the finite periodic arrays of metasurfaces, the FETI method can significantly reduce the simulation costs by exploiting the structural repetitiveness. Numerical results show the effectiveness of the proposed method for the analysis of electromagnetic metasurfaces.
