Research Progress of Cell Electrophysiological Recordings

The study of the electrical properties of biological cells is of crucial importance for the prevention and treatment of diseases. The detection of electrical properties of cells provides a method for physiological and pathological studies of organisms, which may lead to significant breakthroughs in the fields of disease diagnosis, cellular regeneration and rehabilitation, and high-throughput drug screening. The traditional techniques for cell electrophysiological signal detection are the patch clamp and microelectrode array, but both have their limitations. In recent years, researchers have improved and innovated this detection technology. This paper focuses on the research progress of recording intracellular and extracellular electrical signals, as well as the multimodal detection platform combined with other physiological detection technologies. It will help to understand and monitor the cells and provide opportunities for more comprehensive drug screening.
