The Innovative Application of Buyi Batik Pattern Based on Shape Grammar

Taking the innovation of Bouyei batik patterns as the object, this paper discusses the innovative methods of Bouyei batik patterns based on shape grammar, which can help the inheritance of national culture and its application and development in modern design. Using the method of literature materials, the Bouyei batik patterns are analyzed, the representative patterns are selected to split the main and auxiliary patterns, and the inference rules (modification and generative) of shape grammar are used to deduce the results to form new patterns, (basic pattern), and then use the semantic difference method to invite experts to evaluate and analyze the screening results to make it more scientific and reasonable; finally, the reasoning result (basic pattern) is applied to the design of the fabric pattern to verify its aesthetics and Inheritance. The innovative application of Bouyei batik patterns based on shape grammar is feasible and effective. It reduces the vague concept interpretation in the design process and improves the scientific nature of the design process. The design and application of modern fabric patterns based on this method continues the characteristics of the Bouyei batik patterns, and combines with modern design techniques to better convey the national culture while satisfying people’s needs.
