Coverages Coordinated Multi-UAV Trajectory Optimization for PIoT Devices

Power internet of things (PIoT) is essential for enhancing the resilience and adaptability of power grid. Given the broad electricity coverage, the deployment of PIoT devices to remote areas is inevitable, which poses high challenge on the PIoT devices’ information acquisition, owing to the limited battery capacity of devices and coverage of BS. Therefore, a coverages coordinated multi-UAV trajectory optimization paradigm is constructed in this paper, where the UAVs and BSs are coordinated to supply comprehensive and efficient sensing services for PIoT devices. An adjacency correlated multi-UAV deployment scheme is proposed to maximize the covering areas. Then a coverage intersection based particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed, where multi-UAV are coordinated to enhance the information acquisition efficiency of PIoT devices. Extensive simulation results validate the effective coverage rate and efficient information sensing of our algorithm.
