Seismic Analysis of RC building with Floating Column using Non Linear Static Analysis

A building with a floating column is a common feature in modern multi-story construction in urban India. A floating column is a vertical element that rests on a beam at its lower level. The load is then transferred to other columns by the beams. These floating columns are provided to allow for more open space on the ground floor. In terms of analysis, the column is frequently assumed to be pinned at the base. Push over analysis is used in this study because it yields the performance level of the building for design capacity carried out up to failure, and it aids in the determination of collapse load and ductility capacity of the structure. To accomplish this goal, the base force and displacement of three RC structures with G+9 storeys will be examined and compared using the ETABS 2017 analysis software.
