Fuzzy Logic Controller to Obtain Maximum Power in Solar Power Generation System

Power-Voltage curve of the photovoltaic cells are nonlinear and relies on external factors such irradiation levels, the angle at which the sun hits the earth, the temperature of the cells, and the load conditions. Therefore, it is essential to always run the photovoltaic system at its maximum power point (MPP). Therefore, Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) approaches are utilized to maximize the PV module output power by continually measuring the MPP. In current work, the maximum power point in a solar power generation system is tracked using a fuzzy logic controller to obtain maximum power. Fuzzy logic is used as the algorithm for an ESP32-based PCB that is built for MPPT. The simulation findings demonstrate that FLC-based MPPT exhibits strong dynamic performance and can function well at low irradiation intensities of 600W/m2.
