Symmetric Model of IPT Pads for EMI Investigations

This paper presents a new strategy to model the common-mode (CM) and differential-mode (DM) be-haviors of inductive power transfer (IPT) pads in the conducted emission range of frequency (9 kHz to 30 MHz) defined by CISPR 16. The proposed model is a symmetric linear network that can be used to simultaneously model CM and DM behaviours of IPT pads. This network requires minimum number of information and measure-ments from the IPT pad to model its frequency response within the frequency range under study. This article also investigates the main contributing components to different resonant frequencies. To verify the model, experimental measurements are carried out and compared with the frequency response of the obtained model in CM and DM configurations.
