Reliability Analysis of Slurry Transportation Process with a Standby Pump

The stability and reliability of a slurry transportation sytem with a standby pump are studied in this note. The system is considered as a repairable system with variable repair rate. The system operator is proved to be an infinitesimal generator of a C

semigroup by cofinal theory. So the existence and uniqueness of the system solution are guaranteed. Moreover, based on resolvent positive operator and perturbation theory, exponential stability of the system is proved, which is a major contribution of this paper. Then the transient performance of instantaneous availability is investigated by numerical simulation. The results show that instantaneous availability is always greater than the steady-state availability.
