MPC-PID Based Flotation Dosing Control Method for Coal Preparation Plant

Flotation dosing control has a significant effect on the product quality and efficiency of flotation production in coal preparation plants. In order to improve the flotation performance, this paper proposes one method of combining model predictive control (MPC) and proportional-integral-derivative (PID). This method weighted the MPC increments and the PID increments, then combined the advantages of each controller. To obtain the optimal controller parameters, one controller parameter optimization framework based on Bayesian optimization (BO) algorithm is established. In the experimental part, the proposed one is applied for solving the flotation dosing control problem in coal preparation plant, and the effectiveness of the method of this paper is verified. In addition, a series of comparative experiments with the traditional MPC and PID control methods are also designed, whose results indicate that the method of this paper shows better advantages in the respects of control stability and response time.
