The Slope Stability Analysis Based on the Finite Element Numerical Simulation

Using midas/gts to simulate the stability of three typical slopes under ultra-large rain condition at mountain area in Zhejiang province. The results showed that the deformation of slope and the range of plastic zone are different under different geological conditions during ultra-large rain. The influence range of plastic zone is concentrated on the surface mostly in slope 1, and the deformation that is distributed at the bottom of slope 1 is not large. The influence range of plastic zone and the deformation at the bottom of slope 2 is lager than slope 1. This will affect the normal life of the villagers at the bottom of the slope 2. Slope 3 is located in the steep mountain area, but the deformation is not occur in the bottom under ultra-large rain due to the smaller slope anger. Therefore, the prevention and control of geological disasters need numerical simulation and field investigation, and combined with the monitoring of slope deformation for prevention and remediation.
