Glaze Tile-Inspired Liquid-Solid Power Generator for Continuous Water Flow Energy Harvesting

This paper reports a cascaded liquid-solid power generator (CLPG) inspired by the Forbidden City’s glazed tiles in ancient China. In order to solve the pain point that it is difficult to efficiently collect continuous water flow in the current micro water energy harvesting field, CLPG’s breaking strategy is to convert water flow into droplets through a cascaded structure, and then collect energy discretely. In this way, the charge on the polymer surface can be fully accumulated, thus achieving an output efficiency 25 times higher than the existing planar structure. The CLPG provides an essential reference for micro water energy harvesting and will further promote the development of self-powered MEMS sensors.
