Intelligent Tutoring System for Moral Philosophy

Multidisciplinary education requires support from technology to address the needs of diverse learners on multiple subjects. Exploratory research on pedagogies for digital education was conducted to aggregate learning theories suitable for multidisciplinary education. The theories were synthesized to define four pillars of digital pedagogy. These four pillars were used to build intelligent tutoring model for moral philosophy education. The model is a pluri-disciplinary investigation into the fields of philosophy and computing. The Intelligent Moral Tutoring System (ITMS) is run by three agents called learner recommendation agent, scaffolding support agent and biological diagnostic agent. These agents use the moral repository, which stores content, referenced metaethics and learning statement. Learner agent uses learner profile for intelligent recommendations. The scaffolding agent improves the investigation process by constantly evaluating the learning statement through its elements and sharing passive reflective guidance for further study. The concept of learning statement defined by the learner for his/her learning journey is introduced to explain the scaffolding agent. Neuro technology enhancements are suggested by the biological agent, for enhancing moral judgement and overcoming biological deficiencies.
