Machine Learning Models for Fake News Detection: A Review

Fake news is a kind of journalism involving spreading misinformation among the audience to gain attention, personal profit, or sometimes to cause internal war and misconceptions. These days data is being exchanged all over social media, and we are no longer thriving in differentiating between which facts are fake and which are legitimate. The rapid spread of fake news has profound consequences like distrust in media, harmful theories, conspiracies, and many more. It can harm society and can create internal wars among the people. It concluded that Bi-LSTM and C-LSTM are the best models for detecting fake news achieving 95% accuracy on a combined corpus.
