Comparative Examination of Interleaved Boost Converter With Voltage Multiplier Cells for Auxiliary Power Supply System

In auxiliary power applications, the efficiency of the electrical system is improved by the auxiliary power supplies. Appropriate converters are required to quickly start and run for long periods of time with sufficient fuel. Various topologies suitable for auxiliary power applications are reported in the literature. These converters are proposed for various electrical loads with the aim of improving the performance of the auxiliary units. But this paper recommends a high increment multiphase interleaved boost converter for auxiliary power supplies. The topology uses the interleaving technique for the high gain boost converter to reduce both the input current and the output voltage ripple and improve efficiency. The proposed interleaved boost converter (ILBC) consists of voltage multiplier cells to enhance the gain. The simulation studies of the projected ILBC are performed in MATLAB/ SIMULINK and the results are verified.
