Smart Blind Cane for Blind and Deaf People with a Safety Trigger

A smart cane is a device that detects impediments and uses voice to relay information to the sight impaired. Smart cane is a gadget that detects obstacles and this proposed method offers an innovative foldable smart cane that allows both visually impaired and deaf persons to navigate with sensors by detecting barriers automatically. The smart cane serves as a tool to define the world around them, allowing blind and deaf persons to walk without the assistance of others. The smart cane contains ultrasonic sensors at the bottom and vibrating sensors at the top of the stick that detect impediments up to four metersin all directions in front of the user. Whenever an impediment is detected, a spoken warning message and a vibration are generated that helps to overcome the fear of injury and gettinginto an accident. This study has presented a solution that can alleviate the challenges faced by such people.
