Arduino Based Smart Aiding System for Visually Challenged People

Obstacle detection is one of the critical worries for a totally or a partially blind individual. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around three crore human beings are absolutely blind and out of it two crores eighty-five lakh people are with vision problems. The proposed work describes smart stick which is based totally on ultrasonic and infrared sensors. The controller that is used in this project is Arduino Nano. In the proposed work, a clever manual blind stick is used for detecting any obstruction, find corners or even allow the user to find the stick if anyhow it is missed anywhere. The aiding device is designed with a goal to figure out an unusual problem faced via the blind human beings on the same time as using conventional sticks. With the electronics embed inside the stick, it is developed to be a smart stick. This device is expected to be supporting medium for the blind people. The smart stick is employed with sensors for impediment detection. The ultimate goal of the proposed work is to discover any obstacle close by and notify the person of course of that obstacle, and even give warning message to the user, thereby allowing the user to decide the corrective route to move.
