A Review on the Relationship between LULC and LST using Geospatial Technologies

Human actions involved in the development activities have put a pressure on natural and existing landscape. Changes in the Land Use Land Cover (LULC) were the most significant disturbances which are being induced by human beings. Such Land Use Land Cover Changes (LULCC) can be linked with the environmental and climate changes taking place at local, regional and global levels with the increasing growth of impermeable surfaces like built-up areas or highways which has direct impact on Land Surface Temperature (LST). The effects of LULC on LST have been the subject of numerous researches. This article represents the linkage between LULC and LST by using satellite data. After reviewing the current scope of the study, it can be concluded that in the various LULC types, built-up experienced more LST as compared to other Land types and vegetation land experienced the lowest LST.
