Design and Development of Pipe inspection Snake Locomotion Robot

Inspection robots are designed for inaccessible environments like perilous work place and confined spaces. In pipelines, curbed spaces are investigated with small sized snake inspired locomotive robots, as humans and other legged robots cannot do. The goal of this project is to design, create, and test a snake robot that takes design cues from actual snakes. To inspect and check for damages or block in pipelines of industries, nuclear plants where Snake bots can be used. The proposed prototype consists of 6 servomotors connected via actuated joints to produce snake-like flexible motion. The Snake-bot is capable of a range of movements, including slithering, rolling, standing up to pull itself over barriers, and climbing. The head of the snake is configured with camera and ultrasonic sensor. The snake robot is therefore perfect for search activities. The pulse width signal is converted and the snake robot is moved using an Arduino -UNO. The programme runs and issues commands to the parallel-connected servo motors. Servo motors aid in the movement of an autonomous vehicle.
