3-D Triple Band and Wideband Antenna for V2X Communications

This paper presents a triple band and wideband antenna for the vehicular to everything (V2X) communications. The proposed antenna is a 3-dimensional (D) structure operating in industrial scientific and medical (ISM) bands like 2.12-2.25 GHz, 2.4-2.5 GHz, and 3.5-6.5 GHz covering vehicle to everything (V2X) 5.8-5.9 GHz bands with a -10 dB impedance bandwidth criterion. It is a low-cost, low payload structure with the overall dimensions of
$\mathbf{60}\mathbf{mm}\times \mathbf{25}\mathbf{mm}\times \mathbf{5}\mathbf{mm}$
. The antenna has been placed on a 90mm radius circular ground plane for the vehicular mount. The peak realized gain values of the antenna at 2.2 GHz, 2.45 GHz, and 5.9 GHz are 8.2 dBi, 8.4 dBi, and 7.8 dBi, respectively. The simulated total antenna efficiency is better than 89.9% making it suitable for the intended applications. The antenna has promising results and can find a wide range of applications in the V2X communication. The multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) implementation and other results would be presented during the conference.
