Parameters of Water to be Predicted using Regression Analysis

Both established and emerging economies have seen a decline in water quality as a consequence of recent trends in urbanisation and industrialization. Since the demand for freshwater has increased and pollution levels have increased, India has suddenly become a nation with a water shortage. To evaluate the environmental quality of various waterways, you could look at factors like pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). A variety of regression models, including sequential, bayesian, and stochastic gradient descent, have been used to determine the expected values of the water quality parameters pH, BOD, and DO over a seven-year period from the different sample stations along the river Periyar (SGD). The predictions made using the different models have been compared using mean square error. The best calculation for pH came from the linear regression model, whereas the best estimation for BOD and DO came from the SGD model. It is also suggested to use an Internet of Things system to collect assigned a specific task data to enhance the models' model predictive performance.
