Novel Frequency Modulated Radar Waveform Generation with Improved Main to Side Lobe Ratio

The radar waves are designed under the type of target to be detected, its environmental characteristics, and the use of radar. Waveforms play a vital part to decide radar performance. High signal energy, high spectral efficiency, and interference mitigation can be achieved with low peak power and good radar waveforms. The efficient design of Radar waveform and waveform parameters enhances radar anti-jamming and target detection probability. In this paper dual band chirped hybrid waveforms are presented with improved main-to-side lobe ratio. Novel waveform experimentally generated with a good range resolution and 24 dB higher Main and Side Lobe Ratio (MSLR). This performance was obtained without loss of SNR, major lobe widening, and post-processing.
