A High-Power Ultrasonic Impact Forming Equipment Based on Flexural Vibration Mode

In this paper, a high-power ultrasonic impact forming equipment based on flexural vibration mode is proposed. First, an ultrasonic transducer with Langevin sandwich transducer is designed to achieve the high-power output of the UIF equipment, which ensures high vibration amplitude at operating frequency. Then, this research developed a high-power driving circuit is developed and characterized by output measurement. It mainly consists of three parts including the low voltage signal module, the inverter module and the matching module, of which the functions are respectively adjusting frequency, amplifying the square wave signal voltage and making the circuit resonant. Finally, the working mode of the ultrasonic transducer is verified by COMSOL simulation, and the experiment to confirm the output characteristics of some modules in the driving circuit were carried out. It can be seen from simulation and experimental results that the trial set of driver circuit with a wide range of frequency and power regulation enables the transducer to be well applied for ultrasonic impact forming.
