SH Wave Propagation in Functionally Graded Magneto-Electro-Elastic Nano-Plates

This paper studies the propagation characteristics of guided waves in functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic (FGMEE) nano-plates. The Legendre orthogonal polynomial method is combined with the modified couple-stress theory to derive the solution process. The influences of inhomogeneity of medium, couple-stress, piezoelectric, piezo-magnetic and magneto-electric effects on the dispersion relationship are discussed. It shows that the couple-stress and the magneto-electric effect enhance the rigidity of the structure, and increase the wave phase velocity and dispersion degree. The magneto-electric effect inhibits the size-dependent effect on the phase velocity.
