Modeling and Optimization of MFC based on Non-Uniform Polarization Model

In this work, a novel non-uniform polarization model of macro fiber composite was structured based on the representative volume element via COMSOL with MATLAB. The inhomogeneous distribution of material properties within the model was determined according to the 8-iterations analysis of poling process under 2250V poling voltage. An ideal uniform model was constructed for comparison and the influence of structural parameters on the longitudinal strain of two models was discussed. The results indicated that the strain response of non-uniform model was slightly lower and the error between two models provides a significant reference for the effectiveness of poling process. Finally, the electrode width, electrode spacing, fiber thickness and fiber volume fraction of the non-uniform model were optimized.
