Performance Analysis of Roof-top Solar PV System in Composite Environment

Roof-top Solar Photo-Voltaic systems are being increasingly used to minimize the mismatch between the demand and supply around the world. In this paper, the experimental analysis of grid connected solar PV system has been carried out for commercial purposes. This system is installed (latitude and longitude of this location are 28.61390 N & 77.20900 E respectively) in northern region (New Delhi). To receive maximum incident solar radiation year round cycle, the PV modules are tilted at an angle of 30° on the top floor of the building consisting of several subarrays. We have carried out experimental measurement of two units (subarrays) of identically rated component characteristics to investigate the difference between rated and the actual energy produces as well as variation in one subarray to another. The total yield generated by the system is fed into the grid. We have investigated performance parameters as per IEC-61724 and drawn characteristics of each.The results are indicative of significant mismatches in system subarrays. The causative mechanisms of this mismatch are also discussed.
