Energy Management Of Hybrid Microgrid With Multiple DGs And BESS For Profit Enhancement

Energy Management (EM) has always been considered as a significant intervention to accomplish energy demand reduction while assuring continued development. The purpose of EM is often to encourage consumers to use less energy during peak hours, or to shift energy consumption to off-peak periods such as at night and on weekends. In this work, a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) based energy management scheme has been performed in an IEEE-33 bus system based hybrid micro-grid consisting of solar, wind and thermal Distributed Generation (DG) units using MATLAB programming. Renewable energy generation, BESS charge–discharge, and grid power utilization are all planned using the practical electricity tariff profiles, making the total micro-grid system operating cost-effective and efficient. The suggested energy management technique is scalable and generalized, claiming to be appropriate for large-scale renewable energy integrated power systems as well.
