Research on the Effect of Vortex Tube Based on Cold and Heat Shock Cycle System

Aiming at the waste of test resources in the cold and heat shock test of small parts, a scheme of cold and heat shock test, with the help of small cooling equipment is proposed to solve this problem. Using carbon dioxide as working medium, the cold and heat shock cycle system with low operating cost and convenient maintenance is designed based on vortex tube. With the help of theoretical formula of gas dynamics and empirical formula, the structure of each part of vortex tube is designed, structural parameters of vortex tube are obtained, nozzle of vortex tube adopts two runners structure, inlet cross-sectional area of nozzle is 4.8 mm

, total length of vortex tube is 103 mm, length of cold end tube is 35 mm, diameter of cold orifice plate is 2.39 mm, diameter of hot end tube is 4.32 mm. In order to obtain the temperature separation effect of vortex tube, vortex tube is simulated with the help of simple algorithm in CFD and standard k-e model, carbon dioxide is used as working fluid. The results show that inlet pressure of vortex tube is 6.5 MPa, temperature is 298.15 K, cold flow ratio is 0.4, outlet temperature of cold end tube reaches 284 K, cooling effect of vortex tube is 14.15 K, and the reliability of the design is verified.
