Hydraulic Characteristics of S-shaped Overflow Weirs with Different Curvature

In this paper, FLOW-3D is used to numerically simulate the three-dimensional flow field of an S-shaped overflow weir with different curvature radius and arrangement forms, systematically analyzing the hydraulic characteristics of the overflow water, mainly including the flow pattern, discharge capacity, and energy dissipation rate. The numerical simulation shows that when the arc is convex to the outside (ie.,

m), compared to an S-shaped overflow weir whose radius
$\boldsymbol{R}=1$
m, the former has a larger cavity range. The basic hydraulic characteristics of the S-shaped overflow weir with different curvatures are generally consistent with the trend of the change of hydraulic head, and the energy dissipation rate of the S-shaped overflow weir with the horizontal arrangement is the best among the overflow weirs of three different curvatures.
