Evaluation of the Microbial Degradation of Phenanthrene and Pyrene in Wastewater

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) are one of the most important sources of environmental pollution worldwide. Their presence in water show a potential danger not only to the environment but also the health. In this work, a bacterial degradation study of phenantrene and pyrene in wastewater in the Victor Levi Sasso campus of Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá has been carried out.
