The Hidden Physics Behind a Pendulum Adding up Physics Studies on a Pendulum Remote Experiment

Pendulums are used everywhere as centerpieces for teaching mechanics. Effectively, pendulums have a richness covering from the simple mathematical pendulum's model to unique features only highlighted in experimentation. Such behaviors allow the study of additional mechanical phenomena and give the opportunity to validate distinct physical features of their dynamics. Conversely to simulations we bring up in this paper the evidence that only experimental apparatus can bring up some “hidden” physics on pendulums by comprehensively interpreting the experiential data from a remotely controlled laboratory. Actually, only by performing real experiments we can discover new phenomena in addition to the ones expected because basic approaches to physics can hide other unexpected behaviors. In this paper we will “discover” some hidden facts in a regular pendulum just by having a very precise timing system.
