Reduced Capacitor Voltage Based High Boost Active Switch Controlled Z-source Inverter

The manuscript proposed a boosting inverter topology which is known as High boost active switch controlled Z-source inverter (HBASC-ZSI). The aim of this topology is provide higher dc-link voltage at lower value of shoot through state duty cycle (D) period. The HBASC-ZSI topology has been compared with some of the higher gain topologies in recent times known as UHG-qZSI, HMCASC-qZSI, SC-qSBI and EB-qZSI. Among the UHG-qZSI, HMCASC-qZSI, SC-qSBI and EB-qZSI topology, the UHG-qZSI topology has highest boosting capability. The HBASC-ZSI topology provides high boost output voltage as compared to UHG-qZSI topology at lower value of D. The PWM technique employed in this topology operates at higher modulation index (M) with a lower value of D. With a higher M the quality of output waveform increases. As a consequence, the size of the filter reduces to provide the fundamental output waveform. The proposed topology has been designed with a share ground for the inverter and source. The simulation model along with the mathematical modeling has been provided in this paper.
