Mitigation of Torque ripple of ZSI-based BLDC motor with Direct Torque Control techniques

The Z-source converter uses a unique impedance network (or circuit) to couple with the converter main circuit to the power source, resulting in unique features that are not available in traditional voltage-source (or voltage-fed) and current-source (or current-fed) converters, which use a capacitor and an inductor, respectively. The BLDC motor was powered by a single-stage ZSI. The ZSI has certain intrinsic benefits, such as high efficiency and low cost, and its new voltage buck/boost capabilities makes it particularly promising for systems. Furthermore, direct torque control (DTC) was shown to be more successful in driving the BLDC motor than hysteresis current control with current shaping, since it has a faster torque response, lower torque ripple, lower susceptibility to parameter fluctuations, and is easier to implement.
