Torque Ripple Suppression Method for Dual-Stator Motors Based on Cross-Coupling Control

This paper proposes a universal control method to reduce the torque ripple of dual-stator motors. In order to improve the performance of dual-stator motor, a mathematical model is established. The cross-coupling control is applied on the dual-stator to reduce its torque ripple. Simulations are carried out to verify the performance of the proposed method. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the torque ripple suppression method. Compared with the parallel control method, the proposed method reduces the torque ripple by 18.2% and makes the dual-stator motor more suitable to be used on collaborative robots.
