The Effects of Charge and Discharge Behaviours of Li-ion Battery-based Electric Vehicle States on Smart Grids

This paper proposes a comprehensive investigation of the methodology of integrating the battery model onto new battery datasets. The relationship between charge and discharge behaviors with the battery model parameters, the effects of state-of-health (SOH) on “state-of-charge (SOC)” and battery model parameter variations during charge and discharge cycles are analyzed. In addition, an enhanced battery model is proposed, which combines the front mentioned study results with modification to enrich the battery model function by considering the effect of SOH, increasing the accuracy of simulation with concepts similar to the Kalman Filter, and allowing simulation to perform with easy-accessed input data without sacrificing much precision of the simulation. This paper facilitates the conversion methodology of a battery model when applying to new battery datasets and the relationship between charge and discharge in the battery model field. An enhanced battery model is proposed for greater applicability and more precise simulation results.
