Study and Implementation of Trusted WLAN Communication for Distributed Generation

The application of distributed generation (DG) develops rapidly, but a large number of DGs do not have the ability to communicate with power dispatch center, which brings great trouble to power grid regulation. This paper analyzes the demand of power dispatch for distributed generation communication, as well as the shortcomings of existing communication modes, and studies the characteristics of Trusted WLAN technology with its advantages in distributed generation communication. Then it designs the first new power system demonstration area based on “Trusted WLAN+5G” communication technology in Laiwu, China, and put it into operation in 2022, and realizes the “observable, measurable, adjustable and controllable” distributed generation. The feasibility and advantages of Trusted WLAN technology in distributed generation communication is verified.
