Application for Lumped Circuits With US-FDTD Method

The unconditionally stable finite difference time domain (US-FDTD) method, overcomes the CFL stability condition of the traditional 2-D FDTD method, thus the space and time size could be specified arbitrarily, and therefore, the calculation efficiency was significiantly improved, thus widely using to solve electromagnetic problem especially with electrical-large size and fine structure. Moreover, The Mur absorbing boundary condition matched US-FDTD was derived, and the absorbing performance was verified by a free-space example. Finally, the US-FDTD method was applied to the calculation with lumped circuit. Based on the voltammetry characteristics of the lumped elements, the iterative equations of the common components such as resistance, capacitance and inductance are provided. Numerical results show that voltage with lumped elements was in good agreement with the theory, thus proving the correctness of simulation, and computing efficiency was improved via increasing space and time size because its unconditionally stability, therefore developing the application of this method.
