Null Field Method for Problems of SH-Wave Scattering by an Elastic Fiber with Thin Interphase Inhomogeneity of Variable Thickness

The two-dimensional problem of scattering of horizontally polarized shear elastic waves by interphase thin inhomogeneity is solved. The inhomogeneity is located in the infinite matrix on part of the surface of the fiber with a non-canonical cross-section. The matrix, fiber and inhomogeneity are isotropic elastic bodies. The thickness of the inhomogeneity is variable, and the shape of its ends can be rounded or sharp. The problem is solved using the null field method. The spectrum of the amplitude of scattered waves in the far wave zone is analyzed for different forms of the fiber depending on the mechanical and geometric parameters of interphase inhomogeneity.
