Logistics Landscape for Metaverse

With the advent of virtual reality technology, it is predicted that society's operating mechanism will be transformed at some level of adoption. The engagement of data frames will continue with the data bandwidth technology development, such as 5G and still growing. Therefore, the momentum of the Metaverse must be taken into account. Furthermore, the current state of existing studies suggests that creating the framework analysis related to supply chain content for the logistics landscape in the Metaverse is one of the essential factors to develop. Given the extensive participation of developments and emerging technology trends in the Metaverse, it is anticipated that the economic Metaverse will be worth $13 trillion by 2030. We believe some concepts will be closely related to logistics and economics. Thus, this study aims to determine how the logistics landscape can be developed for Metaverse especially related to technology trends and its supporting factors. Empirically, this model is difficult to analyze because the Metaverse framework itself is still in infancy, not yet fully formed, or even fully understood. We provide causal analysis using a framework based on system dynamics. The study analysis's results show how the landscape of a metaverse conceptual environment for logistics will be used or developed in the future with the baseline of Malcolm Baldrige 1992 Performance System Model. Novelty and research implication can be seen from the context, methods, and intervention aspects at the theoretical and managerial levels. Metaverse analysis in logistics is still minimal, and system dynamics review can offer novelty aspects at the conceptualization level both in the academic field and development references in business implications for improvement in logistics.
