Nozzle Temperature Control of Injection Molding Processes Using Model Predictive Control

In the process of injection molding, controlling the nozzle temperature of an injection molding machine will have a great impact on the quality of plastic products. Therefore, it is of great significance to control the nozzle temperature of an injection molding machine. In this paper, in order to improve the control accuracy and response speed, the model predictive control method is used to control the nozzle temperature of an injection molding machine, and the control result is compared with that of the Smith predictive control method. Both methods are used under the large time delay characteristic of the nozzle temperature of the injection molding machine. When the system model is matched with the actual process, both have good control effects; When the model is mismatched, the model predictive control still has a good control effect.
