Sensor Assisted Ghat Road Navigation and Accident Prevention

This article covers the Ghat Road Protection Alerting System, with the main goal of developing an Arduino-based IoT system. The use of this warning system makes the drive on ghat roads and mountainous area roads more comfortable and safer. On a ghat path when a vehicle approaches from either way, two IR-based sensors detect it and send a warning signal to the vehicle in the other direction; the same information may also be updated in the Android app. This research proposed to use two infrared sensors, an Arduino board, a buzzer, and status indicators red and green in the construction of the prototype model. The emerging Vehicle Accident Prevention System by employing three approaches that are collision warning detection, vehicle speed detector using an IR sensor, LCD 16x2, and Arduino Uno in this system detects over speeding cars on the highway. This research work enhances safety when navigating through Ghat section by employing IR sensors and LEDs to alert automobiles arriving from the opposite side. The proposed technique can efficiently prevent the accidents.
