Dual Polarized Swastika Patterned Slot Antenna for 5G Base Transceiver Station Applications

Dual polarized, low XPD (X-Polar), and high isolation, innovative design for sub-6 GHz 5G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) applications are offered in this article. Two modified dipole antenna elements are placed in ± 45° and dual-polarization is achieved with a swastika patterned slot on the two arc-type arms of the altered dipoles and a rectangular slot on the substrate which reduces dielectric loss and conductor losses thereby a very good improvement in the isolation and improved radiation efficiency. /4 above the reflector. The MIMO antenna is designed to operate more efficiently in Band 42 (3.4-3.6 GHz) with VSWR < 1.5. Isolation of 30 dB is achieved at the 3.5 GHz band and the gain of 8.14 dBi is observed.
