Enhancement of Metasurface Aperture Imaging via Information-Theoretic Waveform Optimization Algorithm

Computation microwave imaging with frequency diverse metasurface (FDM) is an emerging technology. In this paper, we introduce our unique completed FDM microwave imaging system and address the problem of waveform design based on the information-theory to enhance the advantages of the FDM imaging. The waveform design methods for the FDM imaging system to decrease the reconstruction mean square error (MSE) with determined energy is proposed. The performances of the proposed methods are evaluated by the data gathered by the experimental FDM imaging system. The results show that the proposed methods can improve the quality of the imaging of the FDM imaging system.
