Radar Polarization Diversity Technology for Low-altitude Targets

When the radar detects low-altitude targets, the mirrored target seriously affects the performance of radar detection and elevation angle measurement. The influence of the mirror target on the radar elevation angle measurement is generally described by a two-point source glint model. There have been many domestic and foreign literatures on low-altitude target detection, but they have not paid enough attention to the important influence of radar polarization. This paper mainly studies the suppression method of angle measurement error based on polarization diversity, and compares the simulations for different polarization diversity methods. The simulation results verify the superiority of the performance of this method.
