Wideband Radar System Distortion Compensation Based on Coherent Integration

The system distortion in an ISAR system can severely distort the high-resolution range profile and then defocus the final IASR image. Hence, the compensation for the system distortion is important for generating high-quality ISAR image. In this paper, we will present a novel method based on coherent integration to compensate the system distortion under a low SNR condition. First, we will analysis the model of the received spherical satellite signal and then introduce the idea of coherent integration. Then, we will illustrate the process of the proposed method. After the process, we can achieve coherent integration of the received echoes and then the SNR of the signal can be significantly increased. Therefore, the amplitude and phase distortion characteristics can be effectively calculated by the coherently integrated data. Furthermore, the target echoes received by the radar can be conveniently compensated via this method. Finally, the results of the real data experiment demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
