Fault-tolerant Model Predictive Control for Hypersonic Vehicle Under Incomplete Data Transmission

The incomplete data transmission decreases the stability of the hypersonic vehicle (HV) networked control system (NCS). In this paper, a fault-tolerant model predictive control (MPC) method is proposed to solve the problem of data packet dropouts and track large velocity variation for the HV in the cruise and large envelope flight. Both the sensor-controller and controller-actuator channels of the HV networked system may have the packet-dropout problems. The packet-dropout compensator is designed to reduce the disturbance and improve the anti-fault robustness of the HV system. In addition, a multi-MPC controller is designed to track large velocity variation in the large envelope flight. Finally, the velocity-based switching strategy is proposed to shorten the settling time. We carry out the simulations of the fault-tolerant MPC methods to demonstrate the effectiveness in improving the anti-fault robustness and shortening the response time.
