Optimal Dispatch of High-penetrated Renewables for Multi-Carrier Water-Energy Supplies

This paper proposes an optimal dispatch model of water-energy nexus (WEN) for electricity, thermal, gas and water supplies. In this system, solar, wind and geothermal energy are conditioned and converted via multiple energy conversion facilities and hybrid energy and water storages to meet various demands. An optimal WEN problem is formulated based on a water-energy coupling matrix to minimize operating costs including degradation cost, electricity procurement and energy loss. The proposed optimal economic dispatch model is tested thorough three comparisons to verify its advantage in cost reduction and renewable accommodation.
