Design of T/R Module for Next Generation C band SAR Application

The GF-3 satellite[1] was launched in 2016. It's the first C-band multi-polarization SAR remote sensing satellite in China, capable of monitoring land and sea in all weather conditions regardless of day or night. The SAR antenna is equipped with an active electronically scanned array (AESA) to electronically generate various antenna beams. The T/R modules are the key components of AESA. Now the next generation GF-3 satellite has been on the agenda, so we develop a new C-band T/R module based on the rapid development of GaN MMIC, MEMS and SOC technology.
