New Design Method Based on High Loss Transmission Line Theory for Microwave-Heating

A novel method based on high-loss transmission lines (HLTLs) is proposed to design structure in microwave heating. The method utilizes the microstrip line model with high loss. The proposed design method enables high heating efficiency and provides a simple but effective design process for microwave heating. Finally, to validate the effectiveness of the design method, a meandered microstrip line (MML) heating structure operating at ISM (900 MHz-930 MHz) band is fabricated and its heating performance is measured. Measurements and stimulation results agree well, S11 is below -18 dB over the working frequency, and the shape of heating effect matches well with the simulation results.
